Well... the title is really accurate. I don't have any updates. Since Jake has been at Camp Pendleton we have not received any mail. Boo.
I did email his senior D.I. this morning though to ask if the fires at Camp Pendleton and surrounding area will delay graduation. Hopefully he will respond quickly. And hopefully it will be positive news.
It is a little disconcerting for me to not hear from Jake. I know that he is fine because otherwise I would hear from someone... but receiving a letter from him just is so very reassuring. Maybe there will be one today.
I will let you all know what I find out.

I was watching the news the other day, seeing that the fires were around Camp Pendleton. The first people they will evacuate from there would be the recruits. That is because when in boot camp, you literally are a dependent of the Marines, and they are not going to take a chance on any of the recruits being hurt.
On another note, when I was in basic, my DI called me into his office to speak with me. He told me that LCDR Goodrich called and said that I had not written any letters to my mother, and that I was going to write a letter to her that day. Dad is retired now, so I don't think he can do the same thing, but a well placed email (like the one you sent) will probably get the gears going again.
